radio radio

to me, they are a great radio station. But then again, I like college radio. I hate XM radio and Siruis. Well, I can't say I hate it becuase I won't turn it on. But I remember staying at a friends house one holiday season and they had some DMX cable radio digitial music thingie. Interesting - many channels they said! anything you want! click on the funky remote and read about the song! where's the buy button I ask them? Oh wait, here is the "alternative" channel. Wait, that's Sonic Youth! Oh, but they are on Geffen on not their SST stuff. In fact, all the "alt" music was major label alt music.

But here's the thing - there are no DJs ans that sucks. Sure, DJs can suck sometimes, but they can entertain and enlighten. They can open a window on their world if they are not held back. A friend who I used to DJ with in Florida used to tell me "listening to college radio is like trying many resturants. Some times the food will be great, and others not so great." Variety is the spice of life and all that.
